Verteillac has regular food and music events on summer evenings and Brantome and Bourdeilles is a regular feature on the canoeing / river exploring / picnicking itinerary. Angouleme train station is about 40km away, and there is also a railway station 40mins away at Montpon-Ménestérol which has a 1hr direct rail link straight into the centre of Bordeaux.
