Summary
This 18th century farmhouse was built at the beginning of the French Revolution and in the 1980s some of the outbuildings were converted to provide 4 gîtes. In addition to the main house and gîtes, there is a large barn and three storage areas at one end of the main building which offer the potential for further development. There are two open-sided barns, one used as a shady games area and the other providing covered parking with a spacious workshop to the rear which houses the main pool filtration system.

The buildings are set on just over 0.8 hectare of land, much of which is wooded. There is an area which was used as a small campsite on one side of the property, along with a shower block and parking spaces. Between the main building and the drive is a 12.5 x 5m swimming pool and children’s paddling pool in a spacious enclosed terrace area.

The property is located 25 minutes from Carcassonne airport and 55 minutes from Toulouse airport. Exit 22 of the A61 at Bram is just 10 minutes away.
Fanjeaux lies on the boundary between the hills of La Piège and the hills and vineyards of the Razès, on top of the escarpment overlooking the plains of Carcassonne, Bram and the Lauragais. The Pyrenees and the Mediterranean are around one hour away. Both the Pyrenees and the Montagne Noire are visible from the property.
Village facilities include a bakery, grocer’s, doctor’s surgery, physiotherapist, pharmacy, florist, restaurant, bar-cafe, burger bar, post office, tea room, petrol station and several artisans. The village school takes children up to secondary school age and there is a secondary school in Bram with a school bus service. There are several sports and social clubs in the village with a wide range of events and activities throughout the year.
