Scaër is a green holiday resort with many places to visit: The beautiful forest of Coatloch, a 15-hectare leisure center, an arboretum of over 60 different species, three rivers, eight chapels, Kergoaler Castle. 170km of marked hiking trails for walking, cycling or horse riding. There is also a large swimming pool in Scaër, with a large slide, spa (whirlpool) and sauna.
QUIMPER
Located on the edge of two rivers and 30 minutes from Scaër, Quimper is the historic capital of Cornouaille and Finistère. Quimper is famous for its Saint Corentin cathedral and its two spiers. It is a very picturesque town, with cobbled streets, old buildings, earthenware, a Fine Arts Museum and regional shops. There is a wonderful market inside Les Halles every day, and another outdoors on Wednesdays and Saturdays. You can also stroll through the picturesque streets of the old town, a 35-minute drive away. Continue to Bénodet , discover its magnificent beaches and enjoy a stopover in the turquoise waters of the Glénans .
CONCARNEAU
Concarneau, is a lively city ranked fourth among French fishing ports and third largest city in Finistère. It has developed around the Ville-close, which is the most visited historical monument in Brittany, fortified from the 15th century. There are two ports, a marina, fine sandy beaches, a fishing museum, a marinarium, a castle, and hiking trails. The shops, sports and cultural events are very varied. The market takes place on Friday mornings and it is one of the best Brittany. There are a lot of shops, restaurants, creperies and bars.
The town of Pont Aven , 20 minutes by car, is an artists' paradise and a myriad of galleries of all styles. You will also find many shops including a very good wine and whiskey cellar!
