The Parc Naturel Régional des Volcans d'Auvergne is the largest park in France, and also one of the oldest as it was created in 1977.

Owing to volcanic activities, there are also 10 thermal bath resorts, not to mention many lakes and rivers. But it is not all! Auvergne has also a very rich cultural and historical heritage. It used to be governed by the Bourbon Dukes, the latest kings of France, and as a result there are many castles and beautiful properties. The Occitan culture is also very strong in this authentic area. 60% of the population understand it, which is higher than the Occitania average.
