French Income Tax Rates for 2011

The government have published the income tax rates and thresholds for 2011.
This article has now been superceded by the following article.
There remain five rates of tax, all of which remain the same, except for the top rate, which rises from 40% to 41%.
The other rates are 0 %, 5,5%, 14%, and 30%.
The thresholds at which these rates become payable has been increased by 1.5%.
The following table shows the new rates and thresholds that will apply on your income earned in 2010, for income tax payable in 2011.
There are various allowances before these rates kick in, meaning that a couple would need to have a a joint net income of around €20,000 before they would pay any income tax.

The new rates are subject to final approval by the French Parliament.
