Grants and Loans for Energy Conservation
Tuesday 06 March 2012
Grants for energy conservation works have not escaped budget cuts, but they are also now available with an interest free loan.
The government has been nibbling away at the Crédit d’Impôt Développement Durable (CIDD) for the past two years as it seek to reign in public expenditure.
Nevertheless, if you are undertaking renovation works they can still make a very useful contribution to the funding package.
This tax credit actually comes in the form of a grant if you pay no French income tax, although only those resident in France need apply.
The rate of the tax credit can also be increased if at least two eligible types of works of energy conservation are undertaken.
For eligible households it is also available with an interest free loan up to €30,000.
