French Tax Credits for Home Energy Conservation
Tuesday 17 March 2009
There are generous French tax breaks available if you undertake works to improve the energy efficiency of your French property.
The regulations have been changed for 2009, with certain works now no longer eligible, and some rates that have been reduced.
Conversely, landlords are now eligible, and the tax credit can now be used in tandem with an interest free ‘eco’ mortgage.
If you do not pay French income tax, then a 'tax credit' will actually grant you the right to a payment from the French tax authority, up to as much as €8000 per person.
