Uploading and Resizing Images

Images uploaded to the French-property.com need to be in Jpeg format and at a resolution of 1024x768 or below. Today most digital cameras are 4MP (megapixels) or more. This results is some fairly large images being produced, these will need to be resized in order to upload them successfully.

Using Adobe Photoshop:

  • From the file menu, select open and browse to the image you would like to resize.
  • Once loaded in photoshop, go to the image menu and select ‘Image size’.
  • Here you will be able to adjust the number of pixels in the image.
  • Ensure that the ‘Constrain Proportions’ tick box is checked.
  • Adjust the width to any of the following: 1024, 800, 640 or 450.
  • You should notice the height changing accordingly.
  • Press ok to return to the image.
  • Finally go to the file menu and select ‘Save for Web’.
  • Here you can confirm the file in a jpeg before pressing save.

Using IRfanview (Free Software Available Here: IRfanview)

  • From the file menu, select open and browse to the image you would like to resize.
  • Once opened, go to the image menu and select ‘Resize/Resample’.
  • Here you will be able to adjust the number of pixels in the image.
  • Ensure the ‘Preserve aspect ratio’ tick box is checked.
  • Adjust the width to any of the following: 1024, 800, 640 or 450.
  • You should notice the height changing accordingly.
  • Press ok to return to the image.
  • Finally go to the file menu and select ‘Save as..’.
  • Ensure the file type is ‘JPG – JPEG’ before pressing save.

Uploading Images

Normally images are uploaded during the second stage of the property creation process. It is also possible to add or amend images at a later date as they are controlled by the same system. To upload or amend images please follow the instructions below:

  • Log in to your account through our homepage.
  • Click Sale Properties.
  • Click Edit on the appropriate property.
  • Click Manage Images at the top of the edit property page.
  • Select how many images you wish to upload and click Post. All images need to be uploaded in jpeg format in the sizes specified above.
